Search for Flights and Fares - Help
How many passengers can I make the reservations for?
You can make reservations for up to six passengers at a time (including Children and Seniors). If you need to make reservations for more than six passengers, you must create more than one reservation.
Why do I need to say how many travelers are under age 12 or over age 64?
This information will help determine whether one or more passengers in your reservation qualify for a child or senior discount fare. Most airlines limit child fares to passengers under age 12 and senior fares to those over age 64. Please remember that you will need to provide identification at the airport to qualify for the fare purchased or be subject to additional fees. Also note that special fares are not available in all markets, or on all fares.

If you will be flying with an infant...
Call the airline(s) to find out the rules for purchasing a ticket for an infant (a child less than 24 months old). Reservations for infants cannot be made through Travelocity.
Can I buy a ticket for an unaccompanied minor?
You must contact the airline directly before purchasing a ticket for an unaccompanied minor. Most airlines allow unaccompanied minors to travel on their flights, but have special restrictions, so please check with the airline to confirm specific policies.

Age restrictions vary by airline. In general, children under the age of 5 may never travel alone. Most airlines require unaccompanied minors services for children ages 5-14, and some even require it up through age 17. Additional fees apply (approximately $25-100 each way) and can be paid at check-in.

For security reasons, most airlines do not allow unaccompanied minors to travel on the last connecting flight of the day. The specific flights which may be allowed vary by airline, so check directly with them prior to making a reservation.

Can I enter the name of an airport instead of the name of a city?
Yes. There are three ways you can enter information here. You can use the city name, the three-letter airport code, or the airport name. For example:
  1. Phoenix (city name)
  2. PHX (three-letter airport code)
  3. Phoenix Sky Harbor (airport name)
For cities with multiple airports, such as New York City, if you enter the city name, we will show you flights for all airports, if there are flights available. Examples of these cities are: New York City (NYC); Washington, DC (WAS); Chicago (CHI); London (LON); Paris (PAR); Dallas (QDF); Houston (QHO).
What does "Check nearby airports for lower fares" do?
You could save money! Sometimes, fares at airports near your preferred departure or arrival city have lower fares. If you select this option and are searching for US cities, we will check and let you know the least expensive airport option for you. If your travel plans are not flexible, and you must travel into or out of a specific airport, just uncheck this feature and we'll show you the best options for your needs. Note: This search feature does not work for all international destinations.
How do I enter the departure time for flights that leave around noon?
Click on the departure time boxes and choose 12:00 PM.
How do I enter the departure time for flights that leave around midnight?
Click on the departure time boxes and choose 12:00 AM.
How do I limit my search to specific hours of the day?
If you are using Travelocity's best-priced trips on specific dates search, you can limit the search to a range of hours around your preferred travel times. The system will only consider flights which depart within that range of time. For example, if you want to depart at 4 pm, and select "Within 4 hours of the times selected", then only flights departing between 12:00 noon and 7:59 pm will be considered when searching for the least-expensive trips.

Hint: If you want to see the lowest available fares anytime on that day, choose the Anytime option, which searches all times.

If you are using best fares anytime with flexible dates:

Why am I not asked to enter my desired travel dates and times?

You are not asked to input your desired travel dates and times on this page for this fare search option, but you will be asked for this information later. You will select your travel dates from an interactive calendar that is two pages from this page. You will not be asked for desired travel times since you will select your desired flight from a flight list once your dates are selected.

What are the date ranges?

These ranges (typically starting with today and extending up to 11 months) are those dates within which you would like to travel. Your search results will list the lowest fares offered for travel within those dates. If you need to travel on specific dates, choose the "best-priced trips on my dates" search option.
What does with restrictions mean?
If you select this option of service, we'll price your trip using the lowest available fares nearest the times you'd like to travel. These fares usually have penalties for refunds and changes (most are non-refundable and do not allow changes after the ticket is purchased).
What does without restrictions mean?
If you select a fare without restrictions, we'll price your trip using the lowest available fares that don't have penalties for refunds or changes.
